Rain Delay Setting

Hi Nicholas,


The rain delay is to forbidden watering in the next n days after rain, where n is set to be 5 by default. After you set the rain delay, Netro will update the watering schedules automatically, which can be checked on the schedule page. You can also find the constraint added. If you go to the "rain delay" again, Netro assumes you want to add another "rain delay" constraint, instead of showing the last rain delays. 

Please note that rain delay is just one-time setting. It's mainly used when it's raining but the weather forecast data is incorrect, so you can tell Netro that I don't want watering in the next n days. If the weather data is correct, Netro will not water while raining. You should  set in settings->preferences -> rain -> days to skip, if you want to set it for all rainy days.

SoCal Mandatory "Once a Week" Watering

Hi Jonathan,

Could you please send us the link of "Once weekly" watering and we will update our regulation database. Currently we only find water regulation from this website https://www.uplandca.gov/water-conservation:

- Odd number addresses water on Tuesdays & Saturdays
- Even number addresses water on Wednesdays & Sundays


You can also create a restriction to follow "Once weekly" watering through Settings->Restrictions.

By default, Netro will skip the schedules(including manual schedules from user programs) when there is a chance of significant rain(>0.2inch=5.08mm). 


You can use the expectation to see if it works beWe take the forecasted precipitation and multiply it by the probability of rain. If the result is 0.2 inches or higher, than we will cancel watering schedules. For example, if rainfall is 0.2 inches but probability is 50%, then 0.2*.5 = .1, 0.1 is less than 0.2, so the watering will go as scheduled. But if rainfall is 0.4 inches with 50%, then the Smart Zone will cancel the watering schedule for that day.

Watering out of schedule time

Hi Luca,

 

If you create a program or restriction, Netro will strictly follow the watering time and duration, however, preferences will not. Netro will try to water during your preferred time. However, if Netro believes your watering is not enough, it will still water your zones regardless of you preferred watering time. 


If you want to strictly restrict watering between 0:00 and 5:00 am, you can create a restriction through Settings->Restriction.

How do I test the sprinkler system

We have updated the manual run feature and please find the manul run button in the home page to turn on and off the sprinklers , below the Netro logo, there is task bar "online", "battery percentage", "manual run", "rain delay".

Smart watering -how do I know

Hi John,


In the default setting of Netro smart watering, your zones will be watered automatically by Netro with smart schedules. You can disable the device while mowing the lawn through Home page->toggle the enabled button and then enable it when mowing is done. You can also create a restriction to restrict watering through Settings->Restrictions.

If you turn on the smart zone feature, Netro will skip the schedules(including manual schedules from user programs) when there is a chance of significant rain(>0.2inch).

 

You could customized the weather restrictions, like I want to skip the schedules on the day after tomorrow as well, or I want to skip if rain more than 1 inch. The setting is in "setting -> preferences -> rain".

Pixie shows "communicating" and timer counting down but valve not open?

Dear customer,

Currently Netro syncs every 1 hour. In the default mode, Pixie will go to sleep mode to save power after 5 minutes when it is manually powered on. Every hour it will wake up to check the latest watering schedules and report the power percentage. Therefore, when you start a manual run, the timer is most likely in sleep mode and it shows pending.

If you have to water instantly, you can go to Settings -> Timer-> "Keep Online" and enable the feature. Note the timer may start to keep online the next day and battery consumption will be faster when the timer is in this mode. Manual schedule with Rain Forecast

iIf you turn on the smart zone mode, Netro will skip smart watering and programs when there is large amount of rain(>0.2inch/ 5.08 mm) or watering regulations and manual restrictions.

 If you do not want smart zone schedule to override your own programmed schedule, you can set up the Smart Zone level from Advanced to Basic(Settings->Zones->Smart Zone), which only skip rainning days for your programmed schedule.

Incorrect rainfall accumulation

Netro sever side get/ Update weather information every early morning at 4 am. Previously Netro may not have updated the weather info. If you have the weather station ID, you can try if weather underground PWS works better.

The sensor is completely out of battery due to long transportation and need to be charged under direct sunlight. 

Please place the sensor under direct sunlight to charge for about 3-5 days. If the weather not good, it may take longer time.
