Controller consistently goes offline

Updated at 2019-07-14 04:49:32 UTC

Dear Kyle,

Was there a power outage before the disconnection? There is a known bug in the current firmware that after a power outage, if the router boots up too slowly, the controller cannot be manually controlled and the app shows offline(regular program and smart schedules will still run). This will be fixed in the next firmware release in a few weeks.

If the disconnection is unrelated to power outage, please write to us at support@netrohome.com and our technical support will follow up with solutions.

Hi Lekter,

What happened is that when you installed the controller you chose the sensor first and the app thought you have the intension to add some standalone sensors (not assigned to any zones in the controller).

To move the stand alone sensors to a zone, first you have to go to Settings->Sensors->Edit(upper right corner) and then delete the sensor. Next you will have to go to the home page. There is a drop down menu and please select your Sprite controller, then go to Add a Product-> Plant sensor and then select the zone and complete the following procedures to add the sensor. You will need to press the button 6 times on the back of the sensor to change its mode to Setup mode (light blinking slowly).

Topic: Netro App

Good morning,

I ask you for a suggestion in your app.  in the program menu, in addition to displaying the manual and automatic programming, can you enter a command regarding fertilization?  I use fertilizers from the Bottos company, where each product has its weight and timing.  Maybe create a partnership with the big fertilizer companies.

Best.

Hi Cody,

To adjust smart watering, please go to settings->zones->select a zone->smart zone and choose your preferred watering mode. You can choose "new plant" mode to increase the watering amount.

Smart Watering Adjustment

Logo
Netro Inc
Updated at 2020-05-12 02:48:55 UTC

Dear Lukas,

1. Currently the minimum watering duration for manual program is 1 minute. If you want to water less than 1 min, you will have to go to the Home page, select your zones to water manually by tapping the blue button to do an instant manual run. I have talked to our R&D and we will support 30s' watering duration in future release of the app.

2. For the Smart Zone level basic.  In this level, no smart schedule will be generated. It only depends on weather restriction(large amount of rain) or watering regulations. For more information about Netro smart watering,  here is an article about Netro three watering modes which might be helpful. https://netrohome.com/forum/posts/111

3. If you select Add watering set for 50% to 1m in sensor's watering adjustment, it means Netro will start 1 minute watering when the moisture drops to 50%. However, there's not an exact date or time when the moisture drops to 50%.  For example, if today the moisture drops to 50%, Netro will start watering for 1 min. However, if after a few hours today the moisture drops to 50% again, then Netro will water again because 1 min watering will not increase the moisture a lot.

We understand you need a shorter watering duration to avoid dripping onto your neighbour's balcony and I have forwarded your issue to our R&D. If you have any questions, you can reply to us or send us email to support@netrohome.com.

Hi Maciej,

There's no watering activities on 18th due to water restriction. You can go to Schedule page to check there's a restriction between 16:00~19:30. Smart watering appears on May 20,22 and so on.

Best settings for garden

Dear Alexandre,

It's also common to have multiple type of plants in one zones. Usually, it's recommended to use the plant that needs most of waters. For example, if you have shrub, trees and flowers in one zone , it's better to use "flower". This is because tree can survive with more water, but your flower could die without enough water. One exception is Xeriscape, which could die with more than enough water.

You can assign your sensor to your zones to monitor the moisture level of your zones and set threshold to skip watering.

Rearranging zones?

Updated at 2020-05-25 05:41:18 UTC

Hi Kurt,

Thanks for contacting us. To rearrange the zones in a watering cycle, you can create programs in Settings->Programs.  You can create a program, and add zones one after one to change the default sequence.

To copy a schedule, you can also create a schedule and select your zones so this schedule will apply to selected zones. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Netro Sprite non apre le valvole

Updated at 2020-06-04 02:22:54 UTC

Dear Simone,

24v AC power adapter 1000ma power supply is ok.

You mentioned that the valve did not open. Please check the wires. Are they loose or disconnected from the slots? Please also check the common wires and the master valve if you have one. If you believe the wires are correctly installed,  please check if there is a main valve/faucet that is turned off manually.

To test if the controller is working properly, use a multimeter (AC voltage mode) to test the voltage between the common wire and the zone wire when the zone is active. Normally the voltage should be between 24V and 28V.

You might also want to check whether there are shorted zones or open zones. You just need to use a multimeter to measure the resistance between the common wire and each zone (remove the wires from the slots before testing the resistance). The normal reading would be 20-60 Ohms. If the reading is less than 10 Ohms then you might have a shorted circuit in the solenoid and if it is larger than 80 Ohms you might have an open circuit.

Dear Alessandro,

We did some research and the myrtle family (Myrtaceae) contains about 150 genera and 3,300 species of trees and shrubs. You can search for "Eugenia" or "myrtle" to check if it is similar. We can update our plant database and could you please tell us more details about your plants, for example, the botanical name of your plants. Please let us know if you are referring to "Metrosideros excelsa".

Can i wire two zones together

Logo
Netro Inc
Updated at 2020-06-15 05:45:41 UTC

Hi Ritesh,

If you do not have master valve, you may try put two zone wires in one slots. Please note that each valve open needs to consume about 300 am, and the Netro power adapter is 800 Am. If you have master valve, run two zones together (add the master valve) will over the limit.

Thanks,
