Hi, 

the longest program run is 60 minutes. To run your zone for around 8 hours, as a workaround, you can create 8 programs and then make sure to space the start times out so the start times do not overlap.

Currently Netro can only run one zone at a time, so different zones for the same time cannot be created. This limitation is due to the fact that the power adaptor can only provide 600mA max current which is only enough for running one valve (when master valve is used).

Subsoil moisture level

Netro's algorithm calculates the soil moisture level by taking a lot of factors into consideration: soil type, sprinkler type, manual watering, rainfall, weather information, evaporation and other factors and the moisture level impacts the watering schedules. After installation, we set the moisture level to be normal level (e.g. 75%) by default. This value is usually not very far from the real fact.

Hi Jon,

Netro gets the weather information everyday in the early morning from weather provider. We have checked Darksky and it did not report rain on May 27 or May 28. https://darksky.net/details/39.5407,-104.9608/2019-5-28/si12/en


Weather forecast is a challenging problem, especially for the rain amount, which may vary significantly in the same zipcode. Netro tries the best to provide accurate watering schedule even with incorrect forecast. First, we periodically update the weather data, once the weather data is changed, we update the un-executed schedules ASAP. Second, we re-check the weather data for the past, update our model, and adjust following schedules accordingly. For example, Netro may not water today due to large rainfall from forecast data. The next day, Netro re-check the weather data, if no rainfall found and your soil is dry enough, Netro will water accordingly.


We will compare the weather providers and work with the developer to check if the weather provider DarkSky has general accuracy issue in your area or it was just an exception.

Hi Joshua,

We investigate this issue and it seems that the problem is due to a bug in the software of the controller: After a power-cycle of the unit, it does not connect the server for new watering schedules. It happens randomly and more easy to occur when the network speed is low. A workaround is to force a connection by launching a manually run from the app after the power cycle. Basically after the controller is rebooted an online, start a manually run from the app and the controller should work as expected.

You device is running v1.1.1 firmware (check that in the app, settings->controller). This "reboot" issue has been fixed in a recent firmware update(v1.2.0). The update has not been pushed to all the devices but it will eventually. We are testing the new firmware and after it is verified and pushed out in a few weeks, the issue you reported will be resolved.

Hi Oliver,

Yes you can control the Pixie timer remotely even not connected to your homework. To save power, Pixie has sleep mode. If it is in sleep mode, you can go to the Program, set the watering duration and start the Pixie remotely.

If you want to adjust the smart watering, please go to settings->zones->select a zone->smart zone and choose your preferred watering mode. We recommend you to choose "Frequent" mode to increase the watering frequency. You can choose "customized" mode to adjust watering by providing the preferred moisture level and flow rate of your sprinklers. I will forward your request to our develop team to check our algorithm.

One sensor for multiple zones

Dear customer,

 Netro will allow one sensor to monitor up to 3 zones but the user needs to make sure the zones have similar environmental conditions. This feature will be ready in a future version of the app in one month.

 A user can authorize multiple users to access his or her Netro products without giving them the phone or password. To give access to other users, please log in your Netro account, go to Settings->Controller->Manage Users. Please make sure shared users must have a Netro account. Hi Kirk, Currently our system does not support pulling data into Netro manually for users as it might cause too much trouble to users. I have consulted our develop team and we will support this feature through IFTTT in the future.

Thanks for your suggestions and we will consider develop this feature. Netro allows users to restrict watering time and define rest time through Settings->Preferences->Scheduling. You can tap "Scheduling" to restrict your watering time and define rest time in "Preferences" page.

Dear Barry,

If you set the smart zone to "basic" level and set you own program, Netro will only skip schedules when it's rain, or of large wind, or because of regulations or other reasons. Netro will not add "smart" schedules even if not enough water by your schedule.
