Dear Dave,


The smart watering sequence is random. The execution order of the Smart schedule is generated as follows:
Since the information such as plant types, soil conditions, and sprinklers for each device varies, the system calculates which devices have a more urgent watering need, ranks them, and arranges watering accordingly.


If you do not want the Smart Zone schedule to override your programmed schedule while still wanting to use the rain delay feature, you can set the Smart Zone level from Advanced to Basic. This mode will only skip rainy days for your programmed schedule.

Hi Kirk,


We understand your need to use multiple sensors for a specific area. Currently, each zone is designed to support only one sensor. However, a flexible workaround could be to divide the area you want to monitor into multiple zones. This way, each new zone can be assigned a sensor, allowing you to gather more data for different parts of the area.

he Smart Watering function automatically adjusts the watering duration based on conditions such as weather and soil. If you want to precisely control the water duration and do not want smart zone schedule to override your own programmed schedule, you can set up the Smart Zone level from Advanced to Basic, which only skip rainning days for your programmed schedule.

The device requires a WiFi connection. As a workaround, we recommend pre-setting schedules via WiFi in advance: Before taking the device to the rental house, connect it to WiFi through the app, set up all necessary watering schedules, and save them.

If the device previously had a scheduled watering program set up, it will continue to operate even after going offline for a month, as the device can store 128 watering programs. When the device is offline, it will retrieve watering programs for the next 30 days from the current date, with a maximum of 128 programs. However, once these stored programs are executed, no further scheduling will occur.

Will not connect

Hi Rick,


Most Wi-Fi connection issues can be resolved by the following steps:


1. Rebooting your WiFi router and your Netro controller can resolve some connection issues.
2. It is possible that your WiFi router is too far away. We recommend a signal of at least 2 bars on your phone.
3. Double check the password. You should enter the password of your home WiFi, not the password of your Netro account. Make sure there is no special character in the WiFi name and password.
4. Create a guest network which is usually hosted at 2.4G only and try to connect the Netro controller with the guest network.
5. Change the WiFi channel from your WiFi router.
6. Make sure the router is not blocking the Netro device.

A few other things to check:

6. Make sure your router has access to the internet and it is not blocking port 1883 which is reserved for MQTT. Try to lower the security settings on the router/firewall.
7. In the app, select WEP mode below the password field if your router is using WEP encryption which is uncommon though.
8. Sometimes rebooting the modem might also help.

9. Use a personal hotspot to test whether the connection issue is with the Netro device or your WiFi system.

Watering notifications in Android app

We do not send notification of when the device start to water or finish watering since that will be too many notifications and we do not spam the user. 

However, We have implemented the app notification when the device starts to water. Currently it is ready for beta testing. If you are interested in trying this feature, we will enable it internally for you. In the next app release, there will be a public on/off control for this feature.
