One channel is always on

Hi everyone, 

I have a 6-channel Sprite with 6 hunter valves. 5 channels work perfectly, one seems to be always on. I tried a brand new valve, a reset of the Sprite, unplugged it from power, changed the wiring but nothing helped. Any ideas?

Make sure you have connected the troublesome zone to the proper connection on the Sprite.  I suspect you may have connected it to the "M" port that is right beside the connection for zone 6.  The M port controls a master valve or pump and is always on.

If that's not the problem, try removing the wire for the zone that is always on and then see if it continues to operate with it disconnected.  If it does, then you either have a short somewhere in your wiring or you have the wrong wire for that zone.

Dear Graham, I connected the valve to the connector marked with „4“, so it is luckily not a wiring problem. The „port“ 4 seems to be powered all the time and won’t switch off. I tried a full reset, different valves, changed the wiring but when I try to connect a valve, it gets switched open immediately.
