1 or 2 frames

Dear customer,

"Two frame" is designed for customers who want to water in the morning and evening. You are right, generally speaking, it's better to water in the morning than in the evening. You can just disable the "Two frame" flag, set just one frame for the morning, then should work as expected.

Manual runs overriding schedule

Updated at 2022-07-08 21:09:42 UTC

Dear customer,

Netro smart algorithms estimates the moisture level and add smart schedules if it will drop below the threshold. If you add manual runs, the moisture may be above the threshold, hens smart schedules will be cancelled. But new smart schedules will be added later. In short, Netro smart schedules try to keep your moisture level in a reasonable range. Netro updates smart schedules even without manual watering, e.g. if weather forecast data changes, your smart schedules will be updated as well.

I guess your real problem is that the default smart schedules can't provide enough water. If that's the case,  you could try "boost" mode in setting->zones->smart zones->mode. You can also add programs in setting->program if you know how much water your yard need. Netro smart will skip the program if it's e.g. raining.

Updated app old problem

Hi Szabi,

Does this only happen to zone 2? If so, I think the resistance of the valve for your zone 2 might be too small and the controller cut off the electrical current after a few minutes of operation. You may have some professionals to check the valve for your zone 2.

Doubts about installation and required devices

Dear Juan,

Spark-8 supports upto 8 zones (similar Spark-16 supports 16 zones). For each zone, you can customized the sprinkler type, soil type, plant type, etc.  For your case, you have 6 zones, with 3 or more sprinkler heads in each zone. So Spark-8 should be enough.

The whisperer sensor is optimal. It helps to get your soil moisture data more accurate than estimation. However, without the sensor, the Spark can work as well. It's recommended to place one sensor in each zone, however, you can share the data to upto 3 zones if these zones have similar settings (plant, soil, sprinkler, etc.).

Dear Ken,

These numbers are computed base on your configuration, e.g. mode, plant type, soil type, sprinkler type, and are  not open to public. Roughly speaking, the low/high are around 60%-90%, which is also a good starting point if you want to use customized mode. The flow rate is based on sprinkler type, a good estimation is :

mister: 2.0inch/hour

fixed spray head: 1.5inch/hour

bubbler: 1.0inch/hour

rotor head: 1.0inch/hour

rotary nozzle: 0.7inch/hour

rotary emiter: 0.5inch/hour

Hi Francesc,

The limitation is from both software and hardware. In the software, we design the program to run the zones each by each. For the hardware, if you force to run multiple valves, the fuse on the circuit will cut off to protect the power from over heating. In the future, we will enable turning on 2 zones. It takes some time and we are not sure about the exact time.

Updated at 2021-07-21 06:59:26 UTC

Hi Bruce,

Netro also has "new plant" mode and please go settings->zones->specific zone number->smart zone-enabled->Mode.  You can check if this mode meet your watering needs. You can also choose "customized" mode to adjust watering by providing the preferred moisture level and flow rate of your sprinklers.

Also, you can create programs to make sure Netro water your zone for 15 minutes multiple times.

Dear customer,

Your program conflicts with the restriction you set. According to the restriction, watering is only allowed on Monday and Thursday. However, your program for zone1~zone 5 is on every Tuesday. You might need to adjust the restriction.

New in Netro. How to reduce watering?

Logo
Netro Inc
Updated at 2021-07-15 08:47:30 UTC

Dear customer,

1. Netro calculates the smart schedules also based on soil type. Some zones are watered multiple times a day, you probably selected clay, clay loam or loam as the soil type which accepts water slowly, often as little as 1/4 inch per hour and that is why we break the watering into many pieces to avoid water runoff.

2. For your 4th zone, you can add rest time to avoid runoff through Settings->Preferences->Scheduling. If you think watering too much, you could  try customized mode to adjust watering by providing the preferred moisture level and flow rate of your sprinklers. You can also create programs to water this zone separately during the day.

Thanks,

Netro Support
